A symphony about resistance, freedom and responsibility \u2013 for large orchestra and animated film.<\/p>\n

Alfred Huber\u2019s three-movement Symphony No. 1, Op. 39 combines contemporary orchestral music with cinematic storytelling. We are seeking orchestras and presenting partners for the world premiere and the joint development of a concert project.<\/p>\n

A concert that invites conversation<\/h2>\n

The Italian Resistance provides the historical point of reference. At its heart are questions that reach beyond that period: How does authoritarian power emerge? What does resistance mean? What responsibility does each individual bear?<\/p>\n

The animated film being created for the symphony adds a visual dimension to these questions. The combined performance is conceived with projection onto the back wall of the stage, complemented by the film\u2019s sound design. An introduction or a post-concert discussion can open up further perspectives on music, film and history.<\/p>\n
