About Us

The project „Resistenza – 8 September“ was originally as Collaborative project conceived by Alfred and Johannes Huber. The project was created as a direct reaction to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022. Our goal is an artistic exploration of the issues that move us: the dawn of new autocratic political structures, the discarding of the rules-based international order, and violence as a means of politics. The engagement with these themes, which has now lasted for 4 years, manifests itself in two central points of our creative work: the audiovisual symphony project – Resistenza – and the podcast Schallwelten, which has existed for almost 2 years.

Team

This is Johannes

Johannes Huber ist Filmemacher und Videocontent-Creator in der österreichischen Politik. Schon früh entschied er sich – im Gegensatz zu seiner musikalisch geprägten Familie – für den Film. Während seines Film- und Informatikstudiums in Linz entwickelte sich aus seinem familiären Interesse an Politik und Kunst das Bestreben, Musik, Film und Politik miteinander zu verbinden. Mit dem Symphonieprojekt „Resistenza“ und dem daraus entstandenen Gesamtprojekt „Polit-Rhythms“ setzt er diesen Ansatz künstlerisch und beruflich um.

This is Dominik

A funny, somewhat eccentric character with a great attention to detail. Even in his youth, he spent his free time intensely studying trains. There is no locomotive series or model number he doesn't know. He contributes to this project by creating several 3D objects needed for this film. This task is where his eye for detail truly shines!

This is Alfred

Dr. Alfred Huber ist Arzt (Neurochirurg) und Komponist. Gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn Johannes Huber initiierte er Polit-Rhythms. Der Podcast „Schallwelten“ verbindet Musik und Film mit historischen und politischen Fragen. Auch in seinem kompositorischen Werk spiegelt sich dieses Interesse an gesellschaftlichen Fragen beständig. In der von 2022 bis 2024 entstandenen Symphonie „Resistenza“ verarbeitete er den Schock des russischen Angriffskrieges auf die Ukraine.
